Villa Emo, Fanzolo di Vedelago, Italy
After a career in the Medical and Pharmaceutical Market Research industries and relocation to Maine in 1998, Anne decided that she no longer wanted to suit up every day for the corporate world. With a desire to revive the atrophied right side of her brain and to utilize her analytical skills as well as her love of plants, she decided to study Landscape Design. At the suggestion of her future boss, she enrolled in the Landscape Design program at the Landscape Institute of the Arnold Arboretum, Harvard University. Anne successfully completed the program and joined Gnome Landscapes, Design & Masonry in 2004.
In addition to enjoying the pursuit of her long-term goal of visiting every garden in the world, Anne loves working with homeowners to create beautiful landscapes. She specializes in natural, informal, environmentally sensitive plantings and hardscapes, inspired by the Maine vernacular.
Although Anne still has not resolved whether she is predominantly right or left brained, her current career gives her the best of both worlds. She enjoys living in Gorham, Maine with her husband, Ken, and several geriatric cats, and spending time with any combination of 15 nieces and nephews.
Anne is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the New England Landscape Design and History Association, and is a certified and executive board member of the Maine Landscape and Nursery Association.
