Landscape Materials

At Gnome, we use only the finest landscape materials available.

Loam:

Loam is soil composed of an approximate concentration of sand (40%), silt (40%), and clay (20%). Loams are gritty, moist, and retain water and nutrients – ideal for gardeing and agricultural uses.

Compost:

A mixture of decayed organic matter – used for fertilizing and enriching soil to improve plant growth.  We use Earthlife Organic Compost – a material produced throughout the northeast of consistent high-quality, high organic content, microbial life and valuable slow-release nutrients.

Bark Mulch:

Our Dark Bark mulch from MB Bark is made from vigin materials direct from mills in Maine and Canada.  Made from hemlock bark using a “continuous grind” process for superior consistency and a natural, uniform, dark brown color.
